The Plainsman Tire team is comprised of veterans of the tire industry and can provide each customer with qualified information for the demands of todays marketplace.
History
March 1, 1981 Fulco Tire Distributors of Baytown, Tx sells its Dallas Branch to a group of investors including James P. Malone and Gaylord P. Carlton whom in 1983 purchased all the stock from the other stockholders. The new corporation was named Plainsman Tire Co., Inc. after a tire in the line of Reynolds Tire (a private brand of General Tire) called the Reynolds Plainsman. Gaylord Carlton, President and James Malone, V.P. started with one location in Dallas,Texas and in 1988 expanded into Tyler, Tx. There were other locations opened and closed for different reasons. The last move was from Austin, Tx. to Waco, Tx. that has been open since 1997. Gaylord Carlton retired as President in April, 1994 and was elected Executive V.P. James Malone was elected President and is still active. Alvis Shavers was elected Vice-President and is still active.
